Virtual Desktop Infrastructure

The EMR Department in conjunction with the Networking Team are currently working on upgrading the Zero Client environment used in the clinics. The upgrade to Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, also known as VDI, offers users many benefits including improved processing speeds, access to internet browsing, Webmail, and Microsoft Office products. CBiz and DragonSpeak will also now be available from zero clients; this is something previously only accessible from desktop machines. Documents created on Zero Client machines will be stored to the user’s personal H-Drive which can be viewed on any zero client. The implementation in Ophthalmology Clinic has been successfully completed. All remaining clinics will be implemented by June 2017.
