Sending consult letters to internal providers

The majority of our Texas Tech clinics are now using EMR. If you need to send a consult letter to one of our doctors please save the document into the chart and send it directly from EMR. To do this go into your patient’s chart and follow the instructions below:
  • Click Print
  • Select the Letters folder from the Print Topic on the left hand side of the screen

  • Double click Letters to find your corresponding folder

  • Select a letter template under Print Items in the middle column

  • Click Customize

  • Modify the letter to your needs
  • Click the “Save as document in chartcheckbox

  • Click Save

  • Click New

  • Select the provider’s name from the dropdown or by using the binoculars search feature

  • Click OK

  • Click Sign

When Scanning Referrals…(updated) � Tip of the Week

There is no need to scan or print Texas Tech Referrals into/from the patient’s chart. These referrals are always accessible from the orders tab.

    • Please call us if you receive the following message when attempting to use EMR-Link: "Due to security reasons, you have been logged out”
