Achievements

ATACS has continued expanding the service not only in delivering clinical simulation and training of learners and trainers of PLFSOM but also in providing consultation and guidance on simulation and its impact on clinical skills and clinical competence to several regional, national or international delegations, leaders of medical education, healthcare, medical centers and the Veteran Affairs medical center.

The Center is the ONLY accredited Center in Texas by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare - SSH.

SSH accreditation in the areas of:

  • Assessment Standards and Measurement. Our program creates, validates (beyond face and content validity), and/or performes standards of human performance assessment. Assessment leadership and assessors have specific and substantial training, expertise, and demonstrate competency in the art and science of human assessment. This is defined by professional societies, licensing bodies and certification organizations.
  • Teaching/Education Standards and Measurement. Our program demonstrates regular, recurring activities with defined curricula and ongoing validation that employs simulation methodologies appropriate for learning objectives to instruct, teach, or train participants for formative integration of cognitive, procedural, and attitudinal goals. The program will be able to demonstrate effectiveness of their curriculum.
