Medical Skills

Medical Skills Course (MSC), the practice component of the PLFSOM curriculum, is conducted exclusively at ATACS. Practicing the 140 clinical presentations taught in the Scientific Principles of Medicine (SPM), students spend 2 hours of MSC weekly during the first two years. For each learning unit objectives, the MSC Co-Directors discuss with the Unit Coordinator, Educational Assistant Director, and Technical Assistant Director to select the most appropriate teaching and assessment methods as well as the training of SPs. Content experts are basic sciences and clinical faculty members participated in the delivery of the PLFSOM curriculum. They prepare not only the basic science parts but also the related physio-pathology and the clinical approach for each presentation (Worked Case Examples). Learning objectives of MSC are closely matched with those of the SPM (horizontal and vertical integration).
