Biostatistics & Epidemiology Consulting Lab (BECL)



The Biostatistics and Epidemiology Consulting Lab (BECL), situated within the Division of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, provides technical assistance and statistical services for basic, clinical and population health research projects to myriad collaborators (clients).

MISSION

SERVICES

  • To provide biostatistical and information science expertise in support of health research.

Consulting on biostatistical issues related to the effective collection and interpretation of health information:

  • Designing research studies

  • Designing data collection systems and instruments

  • Data entry and validation

  • Data management and quality assurance

  • Statistical analysis and data interpretation

  • Professional and scientific report writing

BECL

Offers a Free walk-in consulting clinic to Foster School of Medicine faculty, staff and students conducting biomedical and population health research. Location: A3600, Clinical Science Building. The BECL intake form is used in matching the client's needs with the proper statistical expert in order to ensure the best possible services. This form must be returned to BECL before an appointment can be scheduled. Please complete and email this form back to becl@ttuhsc.edu prior to your initial meeting with BECL.

Clients:

Health researchers (e.g., basic scientists, medical educators, clinical physicians) at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center at El Paso primarily, and to health researchers at affiliated institutions (e.g., University Medical Center, Beaumont Army Hospital)
