Application Process

Our program will be accepting applications for three advanced postgraduate positions through the national resident matching program. Applicants must secure one clinical postgraduate year before starting the program.

Submission of the application must be done via ERAS only. The deadline for submission of all supporting documents via ERAS is November 15.

Selection is based on criteria which are not influenced by race, gender, age, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, or sexual orientation.

Prior to accepting an applicant, the program director shall ensure that the applicant has passed USMLE/COMPLEX Step 1 and Step 2.

Ranking and selection of applicants is made on the basis of information contained in the application form, medical school transcript, medical school dean's letter, and letters of recommendation. Other factors are communication skills, motivation, and integrity.

Non-U.S. citizen graduates of foreign medical schools must obtain J-1 visa sponsorship through the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates; visit ecfmg.org for details.

Applicants must also pass credentialing, as conducted by TTUHSC El Paso. All residents are required to secure a Texas Medical Board Physician-in-Training Permit or have a Texas Medical License. To view the application please visit the Texas Medical Board website.
