Proteomics Core Laboratory

The philosophy of TTUHSC PCF is to provide simplified solutions for complex biological and clinical questions for TTUHSC investigators and others all over the world. In our proteomics core facility we are committed to serve the research community in Southwest region as a great resource for providing very high quality cutting edge proteomics technologies in biomarker discovery. The Proteomics Core Facility provides a full proteomic infrastructure for the identification and characterization of proteins. This includes various platforms for protein and peptide separation, and state-of-the-art mass spectrometry for MS and LC-MS/MS experiments. Our core facility has the unique capability to provide the leading technologies in the proteomics based biomarker discovery. To name a few, stable isotope labeling based proteomics utilising iTRAQ, ICAT tagging, Differential gel electrophoresis (DIGE) and targeted quantitation using MRM technologies. This website intends to give information on the facility and instrumentation, major proteomics workflows, services offered, guidelines for sample submission to the TTUHSC Proteomics Core Facility, and to provide practical information on sample preparation. In addition, background information on several aspects of mass spectrometry and proteomics is available in a collection of websites and review articles. Should this not give you the information you are looking for, staff in our Facility are always available to answer your questions and advise on sample preparation.
