Plans after residency: I don't know.

Random factoid: My first job was at a Whataburger. I quit 2 weeks in and decided to be a doctor.

Hobbies/Interests: Cycling, rock climbing, video games, and science fiction.
Random factoid: "Kronan" was the name of a flagship of the Swedish navy in the Baltic Sea in the 1670s. When built, she was one of the largest seagoing vessels in the world.... oh about me... uh. I can juggle
Plans after residency: I'd like to become a nomadic hunter gatherer on the plains of west Texas. Or maybe I'll do a fellowship in something I find interesting, like Toxicology.
Christina Ennabi, M.D.
Hometown: Los Angeles, CA
Undergrad: UC Irvine
Medical School: TWestern University of Health Sciences
Favorite thing about El Paso: The warm weather and friendly people. Being a border city, El Paso has such a unique and diverse population of patients. I will get to see pathology here that I wouldn't see anywhere else in the country.
Hobbies/Interests: Hiking, traveling, basketball (Go Lakers!), and shopping.
Random factoid: When I was a kid I played in a basketball tournament on the Lakers' home floor. So, I guess you can say I'm pretty much a pro.
Plans after residency: Probably move back to LA. Sleep a lot and travel often.
William Garcia, M.D.
Hometown: Freeport, New York
Undergrad: Dominican College, NY
Medical School: San Juan Bautista School Of Medicine
Favorite thing about El Paso: Everyone is very friendly and it doesn't seem like just talk. Residents and faculty showed me by their actions that they sincerely cared. I feel my training will be amazing here also.
Hobbies/Interests: Basketball, baseball, and football. I enjoy outdoor activities and spending time with family and friends.
Random factoid: I played college basketball.
Plans after residency: I don't know yet.
Michael Lindsey, M.D.
Hometown: Quitman, Texas
Undergrad: Texas A&M University
Medical School: University Of Texas Medical Branch
Hobbies/Interests: Traveling, canyoneering, rock climbing, hiking, photography, guitar, mountaineering, critical care medicine, and skiing.
Random factoid: Between finishing medical school and starting residency I drank fermented spit in the Amazon, ran out of oxygen scuba diving 130 feet in a cave, had my $1000 camera stolen out of my backpack in Ecuador, ate termites off a tree in the Belize rainforest, kayaked the worlds brightest bioluminescent bay in Puerto Rico, went caving with Vampire Bats in Costa Rica, and strapped on crampons to ice climb a 19,347 foot active volcano.
Plans after residency: I will likely do a fellowship but haven't decided which one. I plan on doing some international work as well
Raymond Ruiz, M.D.
Hometown: Los Angeles, California
Undergrad: University of California, Los Angeles
Medical School: Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University
Favorite thing about El Paso: Over 300 days of sun per year with a dry heat (i.e. being born and raised in Los Angeles and living in Chicago for the past 5 years, I'm tired of 5 winter months), a great patient population (i.e. border health and unlimited opportunities to work on your Spanish), dirt cheap area to live in (i.e. your residency salary goes a lot further here), and a close-knit, family atmosphere in the residency program (i.e. you won't get lost in the shuffle).
Hobbies/Interests: Fitness enthusiast (P90x/P90x2/Insanity/Asylum/any-great-workout-video practitioner), sports aficionado (playing and watching basketball, football, soccer/futbol, tennis, golf, MMA, surfing), Los Angeles Lakers/NBA fanatic, music lover (hip hop, R & B, pop, classical, alternative rock, jazz, soul), avid dancer, taking my job seriously but never taking myself seriously (I'm good at laughing at myself).
Random factoid: I took classical piano lessons for 11 years but I never learned how to read a single note of sheet music.
Plans after residency: I'm not sure at this point, but I'm looking into a fellowship, such as ultrasound or EMS.
Rahul Sachdeva, M.D.
Hometown: Gold River, California
Undergrad: UC San Diego
Medical School: St. George's University
Favorite thing about El Paso: Unlimited sunshine = unlimited golf. The program seems great and the hospital is new. Everyone I met was friendly and loves it here. I'll also have a chance to learn Spanish and never use one of those blue interpreter phones again!

Random factoid: I cook to relax.
Plans after residency: Practice for the Senior PGA tour.
Brett Trullender, M.D.
