The internal medicine residency program is a fully accredited residency program and currently has a six-year accreditation cycle awarded by the ACGME. It is designed to provide practical clinical and didactic education in the broad field of internal medicine. Board-certified subspecialty faculty teaches all of the major internal medicine specialties, and resident-elected rotations are available in each specialty. Subspecialty consultation is readily available to the residents on the general internal medicine services and in the clinics. During the three years of training, each resident has an opportunity to become proficient in all procedures common to the internist.
