Dear Interested Applicants:

Welcome to our TTUHSC El Paso Internal Medicine Residency Program Web page.

We hope you will find useful information to help you become informed about our program. The department of internal medicine has been training physicians since 1971. Our affiliation with University Medical Center, formerly known as Thomason General Hospital, provides the trainee with an environment of strong clinical experience that includes common and rare diseases in advanced stages not usually found in this country, coupled with a nurturing academic environment. The border city of El Paso is a pleasant, predominantly Hispanic, busy community that offers all the amenities of a large metropolitan city. At the end of this three year residency program our residents usually match in excellent fellowship positions such as GI at UCLA, Cardiology at Scott and White Temple, TX, Rheumatology at Tufts University in Boston just to name a few. Our graduates are also well received in primary care positions around the country. The working knowledge of Spanish acquired in our program becomes a plus wherever our graduates go in their careers. All of the above reflects our commitment to excellence in the formation of internal medicine specialists for the 21st century. Finally, we hope you consider our program as an attractive option for your residency training.

Please feel free to contact us if any further information is required.
