The Medical Student Run Clinic
The Medical Student Run Clinic opened its doors in the fall of 2013 where students and faculty of Paul L. Foster School of Medicine began volunteering their time.
The Clinic provides primary health care services to patients of all ages in the Sparks community. The clinic opened once a month initially, but now operates usually at least twice a month, 6-9 p.m., Tuesdays. Students manage all clinic operations from triage and registration to patient care and discharge under the direct supervision of volunteer physicians.
This is a great opportunity for students to practice their medical skills and Spanish, all while developing a relationship with El Paso to provide an invaluable service to the community.
“Investing in the health of the Paso del Norte region benefits us all. We are privileged
to have supporters like the American Breast Cancer Foundation, El Paso Electric, and
the Stern Foundation that are committed to providing health education, breast care
services and diagnostic laboratory testing to the underserved.”
