Financial Aid and Payment Facts 2017-2018

At the beginning of each academic year, financial aid applicants will be asked, via the WebRaider portal, to provide expected enrollment information. This information is then used to determine how their financial aid will be divided or disbursed for the award year. At Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso, medical and graduate students have twoterms per year: fall and spring. For nursing students, there are three terms per academic year that a student can receive aid.

NOTE: This is general information and many variables may impact timing estimates and program eligibility.

  • The 2017-18 FAFSA can be submitted at any timebeginning Oct. 1, 2016.
    • Obtain an FSA ID.
    • Go to www.FAFSA.ed.gov.
    • Utilize the IRS Data Retrieval Tool when completingthe FAFSA.
    • Submit the 2017-18 FAFSA using school code 016024.
  • Information from your FAFSA will be uploaded into ourHSC Financial Aid System.
  • You will then receive an email to your HSC email accountdirecting you to the WebRaider Portal if you are missing anyfinancial aid requirement(s).
  • An email will be sent to your TTUHSC email accountdirecting you to the WebRaider Portal regarding your awardinformation.
  • Accept financial aid award(s).
  • Disbursement information will be shown in the secondcolumn.
  • Login to the WebRaider Portal.
  • Select the MyTech El Paso tab.
  • Click Financial Aid Information.
  • Click Documentation Requested and Submitted.
  • Click Student Requirements.
  • Select the 2017-18 aid year.
  • Complete any unsatisfied requirements in Required statusonline on the WebRaider Portal.
  • No paper documents will be accepted.

NOTE: Failure to submit all required documents couldresult in a delay in financial aid funding.

  • Log in to the WebRaider Portal.
  • Select the MyTech El Paso tab.
  • Click Financial Aid Information.
  • Click Documentation Requested and Submitted.
  • Click Student Requirements.
  • Select the 2017-18 aid year.
  • Click on Expected Enrollment.
  • Select the 2017-18 aid year.
  • Click Agree.
  • Click Enrollment Certification tab.
  • Only answer enrollment questions pertaining tosemesters in which you plan to enroll.
  • Answer all other required questions
  • Click Submit.
  • Log in to the WebRaider Portal.
  • Select the MyTech El Paso tab.
  • Click Financial Aid Information.
  • Click Award Information.
  • Select the 2017-18 aid year.
  • Click Accept Award Offer.
  • Select the desired award(s) and amount(s).
  • If accepting Federal Direct Loans, log into www.studentloans.gov.
    • Complete entrance counseling
    • Sign a Master Promissory Note (new loan borrowers only)

NOTE: TTUHSC will receive this information electronically to complete the loan process.

  • Disbursements are scheduled to begin approximately 10days prior to the first day of classed for each term.However, students must have completed all requirements,which include accepting financial aid award(s), andcompleting entrance counseling and promissory notes.
  • After tuition and fees are paid in full, remaining financial aidfunds will be refunded by Student Business Servicesbeginning three to five business days after disbursement.
  • Students must meet all Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements to remain eligible for financial aid.

NOTE: If you accept your award at the beginning of the academic year, no further action is required from you throughout the academic year.

  • Log in to the WebRaider Portal.
  • Select the MyTech El Paso tab.
  • Locate Manage my Finances.
  • Click Student Business Services.
  • Click Direct Deposit.

Student Business Services will send you a tuition bill approximately 20 days before the tuition payment deadline.

Login to the WebRaider Portal.

Select the MyTech El Paso tab

Locate Manage my Finances.

Click Student Business Services.

Click Make a Payment.
