Organizing Documents and Creating Views

From time to time when looking for documents for our patients we cannot find a document that we look before. The most likely reason for this is because we switch the view in Centricity EMR, and our document is hidden. The default view is “All” this includes all type of documents except “file in error” and “replaced documents”. If you don’t find a document you are looking for, we recommend checking that you have the correct view selected. To do this, first go to the Organize icon. This will pop up a window with the different views. Make sure that you have the “All” view selected. Image01

You can create your personalized views.
  • Click Personal Views
  • Select the Documents types
  • Select the Location of the documents, we recommend selecting All
  • Select the confidentiality
  • Select the Status
  • Click Save As, type in a name for your view

New Access to EMR - Citrix Receiver Update

The EMR team has been working on updating all Texas Tech El Paso clinics computers with the new access to Centricity EMR since April 04, and with an estimated completion date of June 06. This new access will reduce the problem with concurrent connections. This update will NOT impact the way EMR currently works; it is just an update as the current plugin is no longer supported by the vendor. The new login screen looks like:

Someone could overhear your conversation and we want to make every effort to ensure that all persons are afforded confidentiality.

    • Please dial 215-4111 Option 3 to reach us.

    • To request to file an EMR document in error please send an e-mail to elpasoemr@ttuhsc.edu and append the document in EMR using the update named Request for Removal.

    • For any feedback or requests for this newsletter please e-mail us at elpasoemr@ttuhsc.edu

EMR Known Issues

There are 2 EMR Known Issues:
    • A notificaiton from GE Healthcare was sent to the CIS Department concerning the dosing calculator functionality within the EMR. There is an issue with the calculation feature for pediatric patients. GE is currently working on a solution to the problem, and will notify us when the issue has been resolved. In the meantime, please do not use the dosing calculator for the scenarios described below:
      a) For a pediatric patient that has a weight recorded in their chart, the dosing calculator is calculating higher.
    • Please report any lab values not showing in flowsheets after signing the lab report to the EMR, Labs proxy box in EMR.
    • To report any issues please e-mail us at elpasoemr@ttuhsc.edu or contact us at our new number 215-4111 option 3.
As always we are working to resolve these issues in a timely fashion and will keep you updated on their status.
