Phreesia Patient Check-In

In December 2018, Phreesia was successfully implemented in OBGYN, Orthopedics, Surgery, GBCC, Ophthalmology, Neurology and Psychiatry Departments. All Texas Tech Health Sciences Center at El Paso Clinics now use Phreesia to register patients and take patient payments.

Phreesia allows patients to check-in prior to their appointment, pay their copay or outstanding balance, and fill out consent forms all from the comfort of their home using their computer, phone or tablet, or using a PhreesiaPad when they arrive for their appointment at the clinic.

Phreesia patient check-in has streamlined the workflow at the front desk and allowed staff to spend their time focusing on patient registrations that require specialized attention. Phreesia is integrated with GE Cbiz and will automatically update patient registration information such as their phone numbers, e-mail address, insurance information, emergency contact, etc. based on the responses on their check in interview. It is also integrated with GE Centricity EMR to automatically import patient consent forms into their chart.

Phreesia Patient Satisfaction Survey

All Texas Tech Health Sciences Center at El Paso clinics are participating in a 3 month pilot of post visit Patient Satisfaction Surveys using Phreesia. Patients will receive an email six hours after their appointment with a link to complete a four-question survey. In order for the patient to receive the email the patient needs to meet the following criteria:

  •    Check in with Phreesia
  •    Have an email address on file
  •    Have not completed a survey for the visiting clinic within a 6 month period or attempted to complete a survey within a
        3 month period

We encourage the front desk staff to ask for an email address if there is not one on file and notify patients that they may receive an email inviting them to complete a satisfaction survey.

The Phreesia Satisfaction Survey will include questions evaluating factors such as office waiting times, the friendliness and care of front desk staff and medical assistants, Provider interaction, experience with phone calls to the clinic, and overall satisfaction with the healthcare experience.
