Routing Documents to your Clinical Staff

Please remember to route documents to the respective staff when further action is required for example when you need Nurse or MA to notify patient or patient’s relative to pickup referrals or prescriptions. To route a document follow the instructions below:
  • Click the End Update when finished documenting. Image01 or click the Route button while selecting a signed document. Image02

  • Use the checkboxes to send document to Yourself, Provider or Sender. Click the New button to route to another person.

  • Click the To drop-down menu and find the person you are routing the document to.

  • If the person is not in the drop-down menu click on the binoculars button. Image05

  • 5. Search by their Last Name or use the Browse tab to browse by department.

  • Click OK.

  • Make sure to select the correct reason for routing document.

  • Add a Priority level or Comments if necessary.

  • Click OK.

  • Click either Hold Document , Sign Document or Route to complete routing process.

When Scanning or Indexing always add a summary � Tip of the Week

Please remember to add a summary when scanning or indexing a document from the Indexing Client.

If you do not add a summary, staff will be forced to open those documents in order to know what they are.

Please note that if you forgot to add a summary to an already scanned document you can still modify its summary by following the instructions below:
  • Open patient’s chart
  • Go to the Documents tabImage10
  • Select document to edit
  • Right-Click Selected Document
  • Select Change Properties
  • Edit Summary Field shown below
  • Click Sign

EMR Announcements

    • The Internal Medicine Consult letter has been updated.

    • Please consult your billing department before associating a rule out diagnosis to a level service.

    • There is a referral for diabetes education under Print>Letters>Internal Medicine> DM Management Referral.

EMR Known Issues

There are currently 0 EMR Known Issues:
    • If you are new to a clinic and don’t have printers available when using a desktop computer please notify EMR so we can ensure you have the right permissions to access all printers.
As always we are working to resolve these issues in a timely fashion and will keep you updated on their status.
