Favorite thing about your job: There are many aspects of the job I enjoy. First is the patients. I find our population to be kind and appreciative of the care provided. I enjoy working with and teaching the residents, who are intelligent and motivated learners. TTUHSC El Paso also allows for a wide variety of medical and trauma cases, which helps to keep me sharp and to grow as a physician.
Academic/educational/research interests: Teaching residents in both the emergency department and hospitalist setting. Simulation development. International medical missions. Tactical medicine and fellowship program development.

Favorite thing about El Paso: So many things I love about living here: great weather, friendly people, and the opportunities for outdoor recreation are some of the biggest. It’s such an easy place to live. Plus, it’s the closest I’ve been to living on the “frontier” while still having city amenities.
Favorite thing about your job: I love working with the residents. I’m almost always looking forward to a shift in the ER, because it feels like a chance to spend more time with my friends.
