Favorite thing about El Paso: Close proximity to hot springs and beautiful wilderness areas. Very affordable for a family. We bought our first home. 

Hobbies/Interests: being Momma to two young boys, Volkswagen Bus camping adventures, Health care as a Human right, Permaculture

Plans after residency: Community/Rural/Disaster relief/maybe end up in Academics after some experience

Something unique or interesting about yourself: There was a time in my life when I helped to build treehouses at the tops of old Douglass Firs, more than a hundred feet high, so they wouldn't get cut down. I also sang in JYEMO back in the day. Look them up!

Favorite thing about El Paso: There's a lot to love about El Paso--the people, the food, the culture. But something I've really begun to love and appreciate is how close we are to some great mountain biking trails.

Hobbies/Interests: I'm really interested in fitness and nutrition as well as the classic stuff like hiking and snowboarding. But since starting residency, I've also picked up mountain biking, and I love it! 

Plans after residency: Not 100% sure right now--maybe fellowship, maybe work in the community. I'm still exploring options!

Interesting thing: EMT in New Zealand and USA, my first job in the US was for a pet crematorium. I’ve been a scuba diver instructor. I have 4 children and my oldest are twin girls who are 20 years old.

Plans after residency:  Community medicine, open clinics in Ecuador and Caribbean, start a medical school, retire early and travel the world! 

Something unique or interesting about self: I won Super Bowl tickets (2004) and scalped them before the game began so I could buy my wife a wedding ring!
