Welcome to the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso Internal Medicine Residency Program main campus! Our internal medicine residency program was founded in 1971, and offers broad training in general internal medicine, as well as the internal medicine subspecialties, and also offers several fellowship training programs.

El Paso is the 6th largest city in Texas, and has also been named four times as an All-America City winner. In addition, it has been again named as one of the top 10 safest cities in America. Since we are located on the border of Mexico, in the El Paso, Texas; Juárez, Mexico; Las Cruces, New Mexico metropolis (population 2.5 million), we have a very broad clinical exposure. Our main clinical site, University Medical Center of El Paso, is a Level I trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, and has been named several times in America's Top 100 hospitals.

We are currently utilizing the 6 + 2 block scheduling system to enhance our residents' educational experience, and regularly use our simulation center for procedural and code experience. We hope you will seriously consider us for your residency training, and are looking forward to meeting you soon!
