Welcome to our Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso Combined Internal Medicine/Psychiatry Residency Program. The program is a five-year residency that is designed to prepare graduates for diverse opportunities in internal medicine, psychiatry, combined practice, or fellowships in either field. After completion of the residency program, graduates will be eligible for board certification in both disciplines.

Our internal medicine and psychiatry categorical residency programs have a long history of training excellent physicians who have taken up various clinical and leadership positions in the profession across the United States. Both divisions are academically strong and provide unwavering support for our med-psych program. The border city of El Paso is a pleasant, predominantly Hispanic, busy community that makes our programs very unique with transcultural medicine and psychiatry.

The curriculum for the residency is spread over five years with equal time devoted to medicine and psychiatry.
