Admission Requirements

Previous Education: A bachelor’s in nursing degree (B.S.N.) from a regionally accredited college or university with nursing program accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the American Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), formerly the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).

Grade Point Average (GPA): A minimum 3.0 cumulative undergraduate GPA in nursing coursework.

R.N. License: A valid and unencumbered R.N. license in the state of the applicant’s residency. Students must have successfully passed the National Council Licensure Examination-Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN) prior to starting their M.S.N. coursework.

Prerequisite Coursework:Waiver of the statistics course is applicable to applicants of the post-baccalaureate certificate program.  However, if upon completion of the certificate program the applicant decides to pursue the Master of Science in Nursing degree with the TTUHSC El Paso Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing, the applicant must meet the statistics prerequisite requirement of having completed a three-semester-credit-hour or four-quarter-credit-hour statistics course with a B or better from an accredited college or university.
