Recharge in the Wellness and Relaxation Tent for Front-Line Health Care Heroes
Jan. 6, 2021
Front-line health care professionals are working harder than ever to ease the surge of COVID-19 cases in the community, as El Paso remains one of the hardest-hit cities in the nation. These past two weeks have been a shining light for our community and the U.S. with the arrival of vaccinations.
The pandemic has presented those on the front lines – including students and residents – with challenges that may leave a lasting emotional toll. Now more than ever, we must protect our front-line health care heroes by providing services to allow them to heal and focus on their mental health and well-being.
Front-line health care professionals from Texas Tech Physicians of El Paso, University Medical Center of El Paso and El Paso Children’s Hospital, as well as TTUHSC El Paso students and residents, are invited to use the wellness tent located on the P3 East Patient Lot at Texas Tech Physicians of El Paso at 4801 Alberta Ave.
The wellness tent is a place of refuge and relaxation, set up with soothing soundscapes and imagery in a quiet, low-light environment. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and front-line health care professionals may use it at their convenience. To follow safe social distancing guidelines, the tent’s capacity only allows for eight individuals to be inside at one time. Front-line health care professionals can relax on comfortable seating or bring their own yoga mats to meditate or use during their visit.
These services are provided thanks to a generous grant from the Meadows Foundation.
