Community Psychiatry Workforce Expansion (CPWE) and the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) Fellowship
The Community Psychiatry Workforce Expansion (CPWE) and the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) Fellowship is a collaboration between Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (TTUHSC El Paso) and Emergence Health Network, Aliviane, and the El Paso Child Guidance Center. Together, we train and develop Medical Residents and Psychiatry Fellows to better serve the behavioral health needs of our community. With the support of the Texas State Legislature, the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) Fellowship expands the number of fellowship positions available in El Paso and across the State of Texas.
Through partnership with community agencies we are able to provide service to the El Paso region during the COVID-19 Pandemic and beyond. For more information on our partners see below:
Through the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium (TCMHCC) research initiative, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (TTUHSC El Paso) partners with other health-related institutions (HRIs) to determine topics of importance. Our focus is on improving the delivery of healthcare through two research studies. The first study focuses on Depression and Suicide, and the second study on Trauma.
Our research is made possible through the Texas Senate Bill 11 funding but will not use patient personal information from the related initiatives. All research proposals undergo a federal and state review approval process.
