Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: It was clear during my interview day that there was a strong sense of community and
camaraderie at TTUHSC El Paso. It was important for me to be in a program where the
environment is collaborative and supportive. In addition to the friendly environment,
the program also has a strong emphasis for providing broad and depth of training in
medicine in addition to having great research opportunities. The hospital also serves
a diverse patient population which aligns with one of my top priorities of getting
excellent and well-rounded clinical experience.
Favorite things about El Paso: the colorful sunsets, amazing food, and being so close to nice hiking trails. The
people in El Paso are also super friendly!
Hobbies/interests: traveling, hiking, cooking, trying out new foods/restaurants, spending time with
family and friends, martial arts training

Something unique or interesting about yourself: I have a third degree black belt in Taekwondo.

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: I chose TTUHSC El Paso because I could tell the program was very positive and friendly,
and that all the residents were actually friends with each other and seemed really
happy here.
Favorite things about El Paso: The sun! I love that there’s sunshine almost the whole year round, and there’s a
lot of things to do outdoors here.
Hobbies/interests: I like playing tennis, hiking, being outdoors and photography.
Plans after residency: I am still undecided between pursuing a fellowship or practicing as a hospitalist.
Something unique or interesting about yourself: I love airplanes and everything related to aviation!

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: It is a diverse program catering to a huge population, not just from Texas, allowing
a great exposure to medicine. During the interview process, the residents and faculty
seemed very supportive, understanding, and welcoming which gave me a sense of belonging
to the program.
Favorite things about El Paso: warm and welcoming people, low cost of living.
Hobbies: cooking, hiking, playing cricket, skydiving, watching The Office.

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: I was really impressed with the program's academic emphasis, balanced by the mindfulness
toward residents’ well-being. The opportunities to learn here are unsurpassable —
the patient population is extremely diverse (and friendly), with great research opportunities
and extremely supportive faculty members who provide continuous guidance. I also really
enjoy the 6 + 2 system as the two weeks of clinic soften the fast-paced nature of
ward life and minimizes potential resident burnout.
Favorite things about El Paso: The mountains, sunset, food. The weather is perfect, with minimal humidity and lots
of sun.
Hobbies/interests: Making that perfect cup of coffee, experimental cooking, traveling, spending time
with family and friends.
Plans after residency: Rheumatology fellowship.
Something unique or interesting about yourself: I've basically always lived in a desert, yet somehow I am decent at ice skating.
I can also finish a 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle within a day.

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: I had an inside scoop from faculty mentors who trained here and spoke very highly
about the program and the unique opportunities for educational, research, and intellectual
development with a great track record for fellowship placement. Also, given the cultural
diversity and case variety to expect within the El Paso, Texas/Juárez, Mexico/Las Cruces, New Mexico metropolis, I was confident I would be a well-rounded physician by the end of my training. It was a no-brainer that I ranked TTUHSC El Paso as my top-choice program.
Favorite things about El Paso: The sun, the people - super nice! It is also very affordable.
Hobbies: Soccer, movies, traveling.

Something unique or interesting about yourself: I have an identical twin brother, so anytime you think I am acting unlike me, chances
are it is not me, because I am always nice. I am also a king.

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: I chose the TTUHSC El Paso residency due to the wonderful people I met during my interview process.
The residents spoke highly of the faculty and the program. The faculty seemed extremely
supportive, kind and mindful of the struggles of a resident. Since being here, I have come to appreciate them even more and am glad to be training during a pandemic
under such a protective program.
P.S. I also loved the weather, low cost of living and free food in the cafeteria.
Favorite things about El Paso: I haven’t gotten to explore much due to the pandemic, but the sunsets are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Whether you catch
a glimpse of it on the drive back home or see it on the evening stroll, they are one
of the fastest ways to destress.
Hobbies: Following NBA; playing sports (basketball, soccer, cricket), board game or Topgolf night with friends; learning/reading about investing; keeping up with politics and current events

Something unique or interesting about yourself: I am a vegetarian foodie and am currently exploring all the vegetarian places in
El Paso.

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: During my interview, I came to appreciate several outstanding qualities of the program,
including the high level of expertise amongst residents, high fellowship match rate,
and caring faculty and staff. My past experience can intensely relate to this border
community, and I can see myself building a future in El Paso, where I can participate
in providing quality care to our underserved people. From my first encounter with
the program, I was able to recognize the strong dedication the program director and
assistant program director have toward residents and patients. It's the perfect fit
for me, and the choice was clear from the beginning.
Favorite things about El Paso: Culturally diverse community and being able to explore both sides of the border (post-COVID-19
era).
Hobbies/interests: Flintknapping ( stone-tool making, Google it!). I play soccer every chance I get,
already won one trophy this season and got my eyes set on another one. Cooking everything,
from homemade bread to Mandi.
Plans after residency: Cardiology fellowship, plan to pursue interventional cardiology.
Something unique or interesting about yourself: I wanted to be an astronaut when I was a kid, still do!

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: Usually the day of the interview is a stressful day, however the moment I walked
in and saw the warm interactions between the coordinators, the faculty and the residents,
I quickly relaxed as the environment was extremely welcoming. I was told on my interview
day how approachable and receptive the faculty is to feedback AND AFTER STARTING HERE
I CAN SAY, IT'S VERY TRUE! TTUHSC El Paso academically stands out with the phenomenal
board pass rates, fellowship match, the amazing 6+2 system and the dedicated research
and self-study half days.
Favorite things about El Paso: the weather, the scenery and after coming here; the patients (they are very kind
and appreciative).
Hobbies/interests: SOCCER, table tennis, sports in general really, chess and more recently learning
about investing.
Plans after residency: Gastroenterology fellowship
Something unique or interesting about yourself: I make a killer ribeye steak (might be a bit over exaggerating) and I can recite
the office. I was also on my university’s soccer team.

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: I went to medical school here at the TTUHSC El Paso Paul L. Foster School of Medicine,
and loved the environment, faculty, and staff. I wanted to continue my education here
for residency.
Favorite things about El Paso: Hands down, the people. The El Paso community is warm and welcoming, and it's a privilege
to serve the patient population.
Hobbies/interests: Spending time with my family and friends

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: I attended the Texas Tech University El Paso Paul Foster School of Medicine and developed
roots within the unique community of El Paso, TX. I also valued the faculty at our
program and wanted to continue my training here.
Favorite things about El Paso: The outdoor activities available in the Borderland are endless. There is also great
access to snowboarding and multiple state/national parks. Yes, snowboarding. Also,
the people here are fantastic.
Hobbies/interests: My growing family.
Plans after residency: Travel.
Something unique or interesting about yourself: I am a non-traditional student. My first career was in the military.

program has an amazing fellowship match rate. There is a good balance between clinical,

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: As a homegrown El Pasoan, having the chance to stay home for residency was an opportunity
I could not pass up. I have friends that are current residents, and they told me how
much they have enjoyed their training, and they emphasized the quality of education
they are receiving! Training at a high-volume academic teaching hospital along the
Mexico-United States border provides a truly unparalleled experience due to the distinctive
pathology encountered.
Favorite things about El Paso: My family being so close, the food and the weather!
Hobbies/interests: I enjoy sports in general but primarily watch NFL and NBA; playing football, basketball,
and fantasy football. I like walking my dogs, investing and cooking. I also enjoy
playing in Texas Hold-em tournaments!
Plans after residency: Hospitalist, but open to where life takes me.
Something unique or interesting about yourself: I used to live in Ciudad Juárez for two years.

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: I chose Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso because of the group
of residents that met me on interview day. They were sincere in answering any questions
that I had. They also had similar personalities compared to mine which made it feel
like a great fit!
Favorite things about El Paso: I love the Mexican restaurants that are here! The best Mexican food is definitely
in El Paso, and it’s great to have so many places to choose from.
Hobbies/interests: I enjoy hanging out with my fellow residents on our time off. We enjoy eating out,
going on hikes, playing top golf, and playing sports like basketball.
Plans after residency: I plan to specialize in Cardiology after residency. My dream is that I’m able to
settle down in a nearby location and pursue my passion as well.
Something unique or interesting about yourself: I love to play board/card games. I am a little too competitive when it comes to playing
Uno.

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: Residency is a unique time period where you begin to develop your own approach to
practicing medicine. I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency, because of the
wonderful faculty/residents I met during interview day, and the unique well-rounded
training experience! TTUHSC El Paso has exceeded every and any expectation thus far!
The attendings and seniors I've met or work with are friendly, approachable, available
and genuinely interested in your development as a physician and as a person.
Favorite things about El Paso: Weather! (can always depend on it to be sunny), Outdoor scenery! (aesthetic views
wherever you go), Affordability! (your dollar goes farrr) and of course... Comida!

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: Interview day really left me with a great impression about how the program wants
its residents to excel and backs that up by providing us with a ton of help and resources.
El Paso is a nice mid-sized city with a small town feel. (Also, having grown up in
the north, the idea of not having to shovel snow in the winter really sealed the deal).
Favorite things about El Paso: The mountains.
Hobbies/Interests: Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, cinephile, hot peppers and spicy foods in general.

program! Advanced care center in a border city—solid, broad clinical exposure, good
fellowship placements! And also free meals :)
Favorite things about El Paso: Very nice people, Mexican cuisine, outstanding mountains! (Love it), year-long sunny
weather (nice!).
Hobbies/Interests: Like to do long car trips (>thousand miles). Interested in programming these days.

residents that excel and achieve not just career goals but also personal goals. Furthermore,
this program offers a lot of research opportunities and has a good fellowship rank.

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: TTUHSC El Paso stood out to me during my interview season for its vision, diversity
and patient population. Although the interviews were virtual, I instantly resonated
with the faculty, staff and residents. The camaraderie among residents was evident.
The program seemed very supportive to new ideas and placed its resident’s educational
and personal wellness as its top priorities. This made it a perfect choice for me.
Favorite things about El Paso: El Paso is a unique border city with a blend of rich culture from the 4 states, scenic
mountains, amazing weather all year long topped with great food at a very affordable
cost of living!
Hobbies/Interests: Designing and art define me. I am also an adrenal junkie and you can count me in
for any adventure activity!
Plans after residency: Academically, I plan to pursue a fellowship. I would also love to travel and explore
different cultures across the world!
Something unique or interesting about myself: I love challenging myself with various types of adventure sports, mind games, puzzles
(sudoku, crosswords, jigsaw etc.). Of note, the largest jigsaw puzzle I have ever
solved was 5000 pieces!

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: I firmly believe that the people you surround yourself with are what makes a place
feel like home, and the faculty/residents I have interacted with have been very kind
and helpful from day one. I also appreciate the program's scheduling, emphasis on
teamwork and wellness.
Favorite things about El Paso: The people, cultural diversity, safety and the weather (on most days).
Hobbies/Interests: Working out for sure. Mostly because I love eating.
Plans after residency: Possibly embark on fellowship training; also working toward a future that will allow
for impromptu traveling.
Something unique or interesting about myself: I learned the basics of Korean and would love to master the language. I'm also big
on putting together a to-do list.

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: Going into my interview, I knew that TTUHSC El Paso would offer excellent university-caliber
training on top of opportunities to learn from unique pathologies given the proximity
to the United States-Mexico border. But what made TTUHSC El Paso really stand out
was the cordiality I experienced during my interview day. Even in a virtual format,
the faculty, staff and residents were able to exude warmth and congeniality. From
the program director’s opening remarks to the resident Q&A, I felt a sense of community
among both the faculty and the current residents that was encouraging and uplifting.
Favorite things about El Paso: The diversity and culture, food and people. As an outdoors enthusiast, I also love
how close we are to mountains and national parks!
Hobbies/Interests: I’m an avid sports fan, particularly of my hometown teams (Go Lakers and Dodgers!).
Staying active is a must! I’ll almost never refuse the chance to play pick-up basketball.
I also love swimming, surfing, snowboarding, hiking, camping and backpacking. But
my newest obsession is my Peloton.

Something unique or interesting about yourself: After my first year of medical school, I went on a road trip that involved eight
states (nine if you count a minor detour into British Columbia), five days of backpacking,
and over 100 miles of hiking.

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: I didn't have any regional ties with El Paso but, now that I have been living here,
I'm starting to like the life that comes with living in a quiet city. I also love
the sun and the heat. When it comes down to why I chose TTUHSC El Paso for residency,
I chose it because it has a very diverse patient population and the working environment
is so good. The program really does look out for you and cares about your future and
what you want for yourself.
Favorite things about El Paso: The food, the mountains and the sunsets. People are so nice and warm here. Downtown
El Paso is also another favorite of mine.
Hobbies/Interests: Dancing, cooking, exploring the city, binging on my favorite series and doing some
outdoorsy stuff. Some of my interests include astrophysics, spirituality, and medicine,
of course!

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: During my interview, although it was online because of the pandemic, the faculty
and residents projected a sense of a caring, friendly and strong camaraderie between
each other. Once starting here I truly witness it first hand and was truly impressed
about how much they care about our well-being. I truly enjoy training in El Paso because
of the diversity of cases we see on a daily basis. The last thing that put the cherry
on top of choosing this program was their impressive pass rates for the board and
very successful matching rate.
Favorite things about El Paso: The sunsets in El Paso are phenomenal.
Hobbies/Interests: Baking, Reading Mystery/Thriller novels, Going to the movies, playing board games
with my fellow residents

national and international population, not to mention the excellent board pass rate
and fellowship placements. The program has a strong feeling of camaraderie and teamwork
with a very good balance between academics and wellness.
Favorite things about El Paso: The people and the diverse cultural diversity in the area. Not to mention all those

the diverse pathologies in the region is definitely the best highlights of training
for residency here. This is reflected by the program’s excellent board pass rates
and fellowship placements.
Favorite things about El Paso: Definitely the sunny weather and the mountains! The people, the low cost of living
(You spend less but get more. Who doesn’t want that?). Everyone is friendly and approachable.
The patients are some of the nicest and most grateful people you will ever meet.

Something unique or interesting about yourself: I’ve dislocated my right shoulder twice while playing tennis. Had to pop it back
in both times (Not the most pleasant experience)

before I applied and It seemed like an inviting and supportive environment. Now that
I’m a resident here, I can definitely say that it is true.

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: I chose this institute because on my interview day (even though it was virtual),
I had a feeling of belonging here. Everyone was super approachable, kind, and tried
to make you comfortable. Apart from that, it is a university program with lots of
research and fellowship opportunities that makes this institute ideal for any resident
in the world. I am so glad to be part of the TTUHSC El Paso family, where they don't
only care about your professional growth as a physician, but also your well-being
as a resident. We have a big sibling, a research sibling, and mentors to guide you
and make your intern year a smooth ride. The pathology diversity in the El Paso population,
along with attendings and mentors’ guidance, makes your clinical foundation and practice
outstanding. The 6+2 schedule is the cherry on top. It has only been a few months
in this program, but honestly, I would not want to be anywhere else.
Favorite things about El Paso: The best thing about El Paso is the people. People here are super nice and kind.
I always wanted to live in a town with mountains, and here I go for the next three
years with beautiful mountains around me. And how could you say no to 365 sunny days
per year :) .
Hobbies/Interests: I love traveling, dancing, listening to music (Bollywood), and spending quality time
with my family.
Plans after residency: I am interested in doing a fellowship, but also at some level interested in hospital
medicine, so I would like to let my interest take shape as I go further in my journey.
Something unique or interesting about myself: I can jump rope 150 times in one minute.

opportunities that are available here. Also, the interview day experience had a big
influence on me for choosing the TTUHSC El Paso Internal Medicine Residency program.
Favorite things about El Paso: I am in love with the beautiful mountain views and the authentic Mexican food here.

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso because I knew it would prepare me to become the
well-rounded, efficient, and multi-skilled physician I always wanted to be.
Favorite things about El Paso: My favorite things about El Paso are the people. Everywhere I go they are so nice
and polite, and I have never experienced such hospitality in a community such as in
this one.
Hobbies/Interests: I really enjoy investing and learning about blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.
I can talk about it all day! I also enjoy going to the gym and playing with my two
dogs Lucky and Lola.
Plans after residency: After residency I plan to start a hospitalist job or a hybrid hospitalist/outpatient
clinic job in an underserved community, preferably El Paso.
Something unique or interesting about myself: I love to do bar gymnastics!

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: Before my interview, I knew that TTUHSC El Paso is an excellent training program
with outstanding resources to nourish my career and help me achieve my goals. I became
more certain after my interview with the residents, they were vocal about enjoying
the program from education and mentorship to the unwavering support of the program
leadership.
Favorite things about El Paso: The fantastic mountain scenery that you can see anywhere in the city, the people
who are welcoming, kind, and friendly, the delicious food and the endless outdoor
activities.
Hobbies/Interests: Reading books, shopping, watching movies and TV shows and learning new languages.

Something unique or interesting about yourself: I love reading to a degree that I can finish a 700-page book in a day.

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: I was incredibly impressed with TTUHSC El Paso on interview day. The deciding factor,
which still sticks with me today, was what a 3rd year resident told me on interview
day. He told me confidently that at the end of your 3 years at TTUHSC El Paso, you
will be a competent and capable physician ready for anything.
Favorite things about El Paso: Coming from Arizona, I really love the desert climate. The city is uniquely situated
north of Ciudad Juárez and south of the Franklin Mountains. The beautiful views, amazing
food, and diverse culture make El Paso a great place to live.
Hobbies/Interests: Hiking, programming, writing, and playing guitar are a few of my hobbies. I like
to leave no stone unturned and am up for anything!
Plans after residency: I would like to pursue a fellowship in cardiology.
Something unique or interesting about yourself: I have published two iOS applications on the Apple App Store!

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: Coming from Mexico, El Paso was a place where I could find myself at home and close
to my family. TTUHSC El Paso is also a strong academic program with good research
output which is something I was looking for in a program as I am preparing to apply
for a competitive fellowship. I was lucky to meet residents during international conferences
so seeing the quality of their projects also spoke highly of the program. You may
also hear this but the low cost of living never hurt anybody right?
Favorite things about El Paso: Definitely the sunset view over the mountains that I have by the end of my day, the
many trails around El Paso, and the many places around the city where you can go over
a weekend, you will be surprised to know there is plenty stuff to do, from going to
ski areas to forest camping zones.
Hobbies/Interests: Anything that is outdoors you can count on me!.
Plans after residency: Cardiology fellowship or Masters in Sciences/Biostatistics
Something unique or interesting about yourself: Currently working on getting my skydiving license so ask me in a year or two if I
got it.

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: My first visit to the campus, right after my interview, was all what I needed to
make my decision of coming here. My family loved it also. Honestly there’s something
here that is not easy to be put into words.
Favorite things about El Paso: I enjoy the social support systems. The people are very accommodating.

Something unique or interesting about myself: Growing up, some of my friends actually believed I would become a chef due to my
exceptional cooking skills. They weren’t wrong though, because my kids love my cooking
more than their mom's cooking.

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: TTUHSC El Paso provided me with everything that I was looking for in a residency.
The curriculum is very educational and hands-on, the program has a great fellowship
match, but most importantly, a true sense of community and support. During the interview,
I could tell the residents were happy; also, everyone was kind, open and welcoming.
I couldn't ask for a better program or location for my residency training.
Favorite things about El Paso: I love outdoor activities! El Paso is a great area for hiking and excellent for bouldering
and rock climbing! There are several fantastic indoor climbing gyms and outdoor places!
Hueco Tanks, one of the best areas in the world for bouldering, is just a 40-minute
drive from El Paso! I couldn't even dream of being so close to this climbing paradise!
Ruidoso, a beautiful mountain town excellent for hiking, skiing and kayaking, is just
a two-hour drive from El Paso. Finally, one of the most magical experiences I ever
had is hiking the White Sands dunes under the full moon's glow!
Hobbies/Interests: Rock climbing and bouldering, hiking, skiing, making herbarium specimens, and painting.
Plans after residency: Hematology-oncology fellowship.
Something unique or interesting about yourself: I had never driven a car until I came to El Paso!

El Paso because I love all the city has to offer as well the broad clinical exposure

with resources and an excellent teaching environment that would help me achieve my
career goals. And during my interview, the residents were so frank about enjoying
the program, the education, mentorship, and the firm support they receive from the
leadership team.
Favorite things about El Paso: The people are so welcoming and friendly, amazing mountain scenery, delicious food,
and the sunset.

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: I was born and raised in El Paso, TX and have lived here my whole life. I chose to
come to TTUHSC El Paso because it has always been my goal to serve my community as
a physician. While I was growing up I experienced what it was like living in a city
with a shortage of physicians and specialists and several family members often had
to travel out of town to receive the medical care they needed. I hope to be part of
the solution in closing that gap in my hometown.
Favorite things about El Paso: I love the mountains in the area, and the range of activities to do outdoors. I also
enjoy the events the city offers year-round like Cool Canyon Nights and Alfresco Friday's,
for example.
Hobbies/Interests: On my free time I enjoy hiking, running, and spending time with my 8 month-old son.
Something unique or interesting about yourself: An interesting fact about myself is I attended Alicia R. Chacon international school
for my elementary schooling and when I was 11 years old I was an exchange student
in Germany for a couple weeks

it services. A program that genuinely cares for it's patients. That's exactly what
I felt, TTUHSC El Paso represents.
Favorite things about El Paso: I love that it's bright and sunny out here. People here are super nice.
Hobbies/Interests: I am a classical kuchipudi dancer. Cooking and baking is second nature to me. I look
for excuses to bake cookies, brownies, cakes and everything sweet.

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: I think the El Paso-Juarez area is a unique place to learn Internal Medicine due
to its geographic location and patient population. TTUHSC gives us this unique opportunity.
Favorite things about El Paso: It's people, they are friendly and always show a smile for you. And the food, it's
delicious.
Hobbies/Interests: When I have free time, I like to watch movies and series, practice and play some
music, and play video games once in a while. I also enjoy going out and hiking.
Plans after residency: Probably I will pursue a fellowship in Cardiology if possible. Still, I enjoy Internal
Medicine as a whole so It wouldn't surprise me if I decide to practice as an Internist
after this.
Something unique or interesting about yourself: I used to take classes for classical music, and thanks to that it opened my musical
taste and now I Like to listen to a wide variety of music.

Hobbies/Interests: My hobbies and interests are reading books and spending time with my family and friends.

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: Ciudad Juárez/El Paso are my hometowns, and TTUHSC El Paso offered me the opportunity to treat my community. TTUHSC El Paso offered me an excellent well-rounded training opportunity regardless of where my career path takes me. The residents and faculty have been very approachable, helpful, and great to help you become better every day.
Favorite things about El Paso: My family. Not to mention the nicest people are here, the awesome food, having Mexico within minutes, and its affordability.
Hobbies/Interests: Many, but mainly playing and watching sports. Soccer, football (I am a Tom Brady fanboy), basketball (Miami Heat), baseball (Red Sox/Dodgers!), and going out with my family and friends.
Plans after residency: I would like to have an internal medicine clinic and work hybrid clinic/inpatient.
Something unique or interesting about yourself: I studied in the Netherlands for my minor in finance. And of course, I was going to be a pro soccer player, but my darn knees.

kind, and attentive to every question during interviews, which left me with a great
impression and experience. This program provides a good balance of work, wellness

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: During the interview, the faculty and residents were so friendly. Thus, I was very
impressed with TTUHSC El Paso's warm and supportive working environment. Besides that,
I chose it because of its very diverse patient population.
Favorite things about El Paso: I like the magnificent mountains. And I don't need to do lawn mowing, leaf collecting
or snow plowing.
Hobbies/Interests: Hiking, cooking and traveling.
Plans after residency: I want to apply for a fellowship and finally become an academic neurologist.
Something unique or interesting about myself: I have rich research experience in neuroscience.

Why I chose to come to TTUHSC El Paso for residency: TTUHSC El Paso offered me the opportunity to train at a comprehensive stroke center
with a professional and welcoming staff that also emphasized didactics.
Favorite things about El Paso: My absolute favorite thing about El Paso is the view from the Franklin Mountains
of both El Paso and Juárez at night.
Hobbies/Interests: I enjoy playing videogames, cooking/baking, reading and gardening.
Plans after residency: After residency, I hope to pursue a fellowship in either neurocritical care, vascular
neurology, or epilepsy.
Something unique or interesting about myself: I accidentally taught my cat to play fetch and open doors.

The faculty members are approachable, friendly and supportive. I’m really excited
about the residency training at TTUHSC El Paso and becoming a full-fledged neurologist.
