Office of Institutional Advancement

Message from the Vice President for Institutional Advancement

On behalf of our team, I welcome you to the Office of Institutional Advancement at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso. I invite you to explore our website to learn the many ways Institutional Advancement supports our community and the university—from fundraising to marketing and alumni relations.

Andrea Tawney

As a proud graduate of Texas Tech University and a long-time resident of the Borderland, I am delighted to be part of the effort to grow the community of supporters for our young university.

While our campus in El Paso has educated medical students and provided quality health care to West Texans since 1973, in 2013 we officially became the fourth freestanding institution in the Texas Tech University System.

This is an exciting time to be a part of the first and only health sciences center on the U.S.-Mexico border. Our enrollment of future doctors, nurses and biomedical researchers is expanding every year, and our beautiful campus is transforming central El Paso’s skyline. Many of our graduates will remain in the Paso del Norte region and impact the lives of the families they serve each and every day. Our five-story Medical Sciences Building II was completed in 2020, and triples the university’s research space. And in 2021, we welcomed the first class of the Woody L. Hunt School of Dental Medicine — the first-ever dental school in West Texas, and the first dental school to open in the state in nearly 50 years.

Join us in being a part of TTUHSC El Paso’s future and our Red Raider family. There are numerous ways to support the people of our region through giving to TTUHSC El Paso: visit our online giving page, or feel free to reach out to us to discuss additional opportunities. Thank you for your interest in making a difference for future generations.
