Welcome to the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine
Welcome to our admissions webpage. We hope that the information in the following pages will increase your familiarity with our institution and the highly innovative programs we offer.
Students at the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine obtain a medical education that emphasizes a strong foundation in modern scientific principles, encourages strong ethical principles, focuses on the needs of the community, and is committed to excellence.
The school's educational program consists of an integrated curriculum that is designed around clinical presentations within organ-system based courses. Clinical presentations are the ways in which a patient presents to a physician. Students learn anatomy, biochemistry, physiology, and other basic science concepts and content needed to understand specific clinical presentations at the time that the presentation is being addressed. This approach enhances knowledge comprehension and has been shown to improve retention of the basic sciences and promote the acquisition of diagnostic reasoning skills that are more like those of the expert practicing physician. Because of our geographic location, students are immersed in a unique and rich variety of clinical patient-care learning experiences, that include not only traditional medicine, but also international, binational, bicultural, and border health medicine.
Thank you for your interest in our school. We hope you find that our program is exactly what you are looking for to pursue your medical education. We look forward to considering your application.
