Comprehensive or General Liability Insurance
TTUHSC does not purchase comprehensive or general liability insurance.
The Contracting Office advises to simply ask the agency (usually federal and state agencies) to delete such a provision or waive the requirement. Explain to the agency that:
- TTUHSC is protected by the Texas Tort Claims Act, which provides liability protection for state agencies in lieu of comprehensive or general liability insurance;
- For that reason, TTUHSC does not purchase additional comprehensive or general liability insurance protection;
- Therefore, the provision must be deleted or the requirement must be waived (in writing).
