Requesting Med Hx From EMR – How-to

You can request a patient’s Med Hx from the EMR Prescribing network. To do this make sure you are inside any type of update including but not limited to Office Visits, Orders Only, Phone Note and Preload encounters. NOTE: PLEASE MAKE SURE TO GET THE CONSENT OF PATIENT BEFORE DOING THIS.
  • While inside an update click on the Meds button. Image01
  • Once inside the Update Medications module click on the Med Hx button. Image02
  • Fill out the relevant information below. NOTE: PLEASE MAKE SURE TO GET THE CONSENT OF PATIENT BEFORE DOING THIS. Image03
    • Select the correct Requesting Provider from the drop-down list.

    • Select the consent status from the drop-down list.

    • Select the Date Range if applicable (optional).

    • Click the Request Med Hx button. Image04

      The medications will take about one minute to populate a month’s request. The longer the date range the longer it will take to populate.

    • Click Refresh Grid after 1 or 2 minutes. Image05

    • Select the medication you want to add.

    • Click Add to Current Meds. Image06

  • If the medication is not a part of the EMR formulary you will be taken to the find medication window. If the medication is a part of the formulary you will be taken to the add new medication window where you will need to complete the refill portion.

Printing Labs to UMC – Tip of the Week � Tip of the Week

The following applies when printing labs to UMC:

In order to change the status from “WAITING to be Printed” to “Printed” you need to use the Print button shown below instead of the Print Req Only or Print Labels Only buttons.

Changing the status will help you know which orders have already been printed and sent to the lab. This does not affect sending labs to LabCorp and Quest.

EMR Announcements

    • The insurance verification form has been split into three forms: Primary Insurance, Secondary Insurance, and Tertiary Insurance. The Insurance Verification and Assign Provider encounter type includes all of these forms.

EMR Known Issues

There is currently 1 EMR Known Issues:
    • We finished applying some fixes to our EMR servers on 05/31/12 to solve the Order/Prescription printing issue. If you continue to have this issue please continue to report it so we can notify GE.
    • Please make sure you report any issues that impact EMR as we cannot solve issues we are unaware of.
As always we are working to resolve these issues in a timely fashion and will keep you updated on their status.
